Big Boy Bed! & I am an AUNTIE!

Posted by clikchic on Jan 7, 2007 in Family Scraps

After more than 2 months of waiting for Kyan’s bed to arrive it finally arrived (BROKEN! but that is a whole other story - still waiting on replacement parts) just before we went on holiday’s and he wouldn’t have a bar of it, so we had to put him in the portacot while were were away again.

When we got back we decided to switch him over after he was asleep at night… since he wouldn’t oblige while he was awake! We did that with Jaz and it worked a treat. She got used to waking up in the bed and after a while would go to sleep in it from being awake.

Anyway, the first night of trying to pick him up was a bust as he was lying on his tummy as he always does and he woke up when Dean tried to pick him up. I suggested to Dean to try letting him resettle on his shoulder first before putting him in the ‘Wiggles’ bed. (he has a Wiggles doona cover) Well the second night that worked a treat and he woke up very surprised that he was in the ‘Wiggles’ bed. We did that for a few nights and it was going well until one night he woke and Dean could not resettle him to put him in the big bed, so we left him there.. then at around 1am he woke up screaming and when Dean went in he wanted to go in the Wiggles bed. Dean put him in there and he went back to sleep without a problem! We were totally stumped as to why he would suddenly do that!

Then last night, he was being very cranky at bed time so Dean put him crying in his cot. After a few minutes I went in to resettle him and he asked to be put in the wiggles bed again! WAHOO! I think we are making progress!

Normally I probably would have left him in the cot a while longer since he is not even 2 yet, but we have someone who needs the cot!!!!

I can’t believe that I have not posted about this yet!!! I have been so busy setting into life as a working Mum that I haven’t had a chance to do much blog posting.. I am doing lots of catching up now while I am on holidays. (go back to work tomorrow )

Anyway, I am an AUNTIE again! My brother and his wife had a baby girl in November. Her name is Mikaela Paige and she was less than 7lb’s (born 3wks early) and wait for it… 56cm’s long! She is going to be tall like her father me thinks!

Anyway, I am going to do a layout very soon.. and will post here when I have done it.

What did you get for Christmas?

Posted by clikchic on Jan 5, 2007 in Family Scraps, General Scraps

I did really well this Christmas and felt like sharing!

PhoneandLabelmaker.jpg

I wanted a pretty pink new phone for Christmas and Santa was very nice to me. Now I won’t have to be embarrassed when I get my daggy old phone out in front of people. He he. It is a fairly basic phone but the most important thing is that it is PINK and that it is a flip phone. ROFL

I also got a pretty PINK labelmaker.. I have gotten sick of shelling out hundreds of dollars on custom name stickers for the kids kindy stuff. I was concerned that the labels wouldn’t be dishwasher safe but I am told that they last very well, and they also do iron on name tags, which is even better! It was bearable to spend the money on the labels before we had Kyan but paying the money for two kids makes it that much more expensive, so I decided a labelmaker was the way to go!  I must have been very good this year since santa brought me such a cool toy! Either that or he thinks I spend too much money! He he

I also got this very cool signed copy of this Chris Isaac CD! How cool that santa got it personally signed for me! Don’t you love the halo! ROFL

I was also given a VERY cool Robbie Williams Concert DVD.

The concert is fabulous! (some consolation for the fact I never made the concert here in Australia. :-( ) I can’t wait to watch the documentary dvd that comes with it when I finally get a chance!

I also got a clothing voucher which is great. .I really needed some more work clothes and have already bought some blouses with it!

I did get a few more things but all in all Santa has been VERY good to me! ;-) Thank you SANTA you know who you are.. have to be careful you know.. I have kids around me. ;-)

Resume Album

Posted by clikchic on Jan 3, 2007 in Digi Scraps

Before I started getting stuck into my next kit I wanted to finish of a set which I had started just before I started my new job. I never had time to finish it off before Christmas so I have taken advantage of my holiday time to get it done.

This album is inspired by my own resume which got me my fabulous job! Have I mentioned how much I love my new job? A good thing as I am still missing designing! I have designed it both in A4 for the Aussies and 8.5″x11″ for the North Americans and anyone else who might use that as their standard paper size. ;-) Click on the preview below to go to the kits in store and view additional previews.

Cheeky!

Posted by clikchic on Jan 3, 2007 in Digi Scraps, Family Scraps

Ok, here is my latest layout! The colours were inspired by the photo which have in turn inspired the beginnings of my next kit. So this layout is also a sample of what is to come in my next kit! It feels good to be designing again! I have really missed it!

I am so proud of my little man. As cheeky as he is he just has the most adorable little personality. He certainly has his moments of course, particularly when he is short on sleep or unwell, but for the most part he is a pure delight. He has been just lovely today, giving me lots of generous cuddles and in a wonderfully happy mood. He has been singing and carrying on today which has been rather cute.. now if only I could stop him from throwing every pen and pencil we own on the floor… what can I say.. despite his delightful nature.. he still is very CHEEKY!

Merry Christmas and a Fabulous New Year!

Posted by clikchic on Jan 3, 2007 in Digi Scraps, Family Scraps

Ok, so this is a tad late.. the silly season has kept us more than busy and so my intentions to post a little more regularly has gone awry for the time being. Fingers crossed as our routine with my new role as full time working Mum will continue to smooth out to allow me a little more free time!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. Jaz is right into the Santa thing! Kyan would not go near him so this year’s Santa photo was sans Kyan!

SantaAndJaz2006-web.jpg

Christmas Day was a lot of fun. We were at my parents house and my cousin and her partner & friend were visiting from Holland. Everytime a present was retrieved from the tree Kyan would pipe up my turn my turn, or my present my present. The kids were thoroughly spoilt again this year. We keep telling ourselves we will not do it next year but it is so hard not to. You add bits and pieces as you see them in the shops over time and before you know it there are TONS.
Jasmine’s Elina Barbie was a much wanted gift and a big favourite amongst many others. Kyan was rather keen on anything Wiggles, including Jasmine’s Wiggles Scrapbook album! His Wiggles Books and Guitar were probably favourites tho.
Jasmine’s birthday is coming up on the 24th so I will try and pick up some of the things she wanted but didn’t get for Christmas if we haven’t got too much already (I need to check what we have already!). I have a suspicious feeling however that we already have her quota! She is really keen on having a flute or recorder and also wants a musical jewelery box which I have already picked up for her. She is also keen on the idea of having a Kite. Anyway.. despite the fact she still wants more I think she got way more than she expected for Christmas. The thing she wanted most was the Elina Barbie and she didn’t want to ask for anything else for fear that she didn’t get the Barbie.
I have booked Jasmine’s birthday party. She wanted a Fairy Party at the Fairy Shop. I must get the invitations organised! ;-)
I am thoroughly enjoying my holiday. I feel so spoilt having 2 weeks off when I have only been at my job for 2 months. I have the kids with me for the rest of the week and we all start back on Monday. I have been enjoying lots of cuddles but can’t believe I had already forgotten what the constant wanting, needing and chatter was like! LOL I have even been missing work would you believe!
I have taken lots of photos over the break but have yet to scrap any but one of them. I will post that one shortly.
Anyway, I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and here’s to an amazing 2007!
