Family Scraps After four rounds of antibiotics his tonsils are finally clear, as are his lungs, nose and ears. Despite that he still wakes at night for no reason we can pinpoint and he just spent the last 2.5hrs screaming his lungs out because he didn’t want to sleep in his cot, but in our arms. Just when we thought we had broken that habit he tries it all again.
He is normally only this bad when he is not well… but he was only at the doctor yesterday who gave him the all clear. He did say perhaps if he is still waking after the weekend that it might be his reflux back and that perhaps we could try his reflux meds again.. sigh…..
So much for being well rested for my first day of work!

Family Scraps It’s official - I am returning to the workforce after nearly 5 years of being a SAHM. I had a job interview last week and I seemed to be exactly what they were looking for. The job seemed to also be right up my alley and just the sort of thing I was after. It pay’s pretty good, and it will be an interesting and challenging job from what I can tell so I am really looking forward to starting there.
I will be an Office Manager/Admin for a long standing accounting firm. I will have staff under me which will be great. While I am really looking forward to the new phase of my life I am really going to miss being a SAHM but sadly we just can’t afford for me to stay home any longer.
I thought I was being really organised starting Kyan in daycare one day a week several weeks ago with the aim of getting him used to the daycare centre he would supposedly be going to. The director said there would likely be a full time position for him and a part time one for Jasmine as she was moving kids up. Well they certainly did move the kids up but they also gave the places to other parents without bothering to let me know that this was happening. So I ring up having gotten the job and I am told I can only get one other day for Kyan instead of full time!
I found this really upsetting after all the effort we have been going to and all the trouble we have been having getting Kyan settled. He is not eating while he is there and is very shy. So we had to find a whole new centre for both Kyan and Jasmine. Jasmine was looking forward to going back to her old kindy part time with her old friends but that isn’t going to happen either since we want them at the same centre.
Thankfully I rang a centre I had heard good things about from a few people and just that morning they had had a new position opening up that was starting in 2 wks, exactly when I start my new job! They also had some part time days between now and then that I could use in the mean time to try and get Kyan used to the new place as much as possible before then. And they also had a part time position available for the days I needed for Jasmine as well! Wahoo!
I went and had a look and it looks like a great setup there and even better we don’t have to supply lunch, just fruit for morning and afternoon tea. I will have to supply milk for Kyan since he has soy but less lunch preparation will be great! And OMG Jasmine was so excited because while we were there we ran into her friend from swimming (oh joy!) who goes there as well. It will make it easier for her to settle at the new centre at least but I hope she doesn’t pick up any of her bad habits. Time will tell I guess! Anyway, she is happy as a pig in mud about going there which is great. Now just to get Kyan used to the place. We have to start all over now at this new place so I hope he settles quickly! And I hope he does ok eating the different food. He doesn’t like trying different foods much so I hope he will adjust to that ok.
So I am finalising the booking today when I take Kyan and Jaz in for a play and Kyan’s first day will be tomorrow! He is doing 2 days this week and 3 days next week and will be full time from the following week onwards.

Family Scraps Jasmine started pulling this face when she was 1 and it had us in hysterics every time! I designed this kit specifically for this photo.. a little while ago now and have finally scrapped it! I did it with my Beans and Spaghetti kit and Alphaghetti and Sauce Alpha Set. I also did some grunging up with my Grunge Me Brushes.

You thought it was so wonderful to get such a huge reaction that you decided to do it more often, and it became your favourite party trick when we had Oma and Opa or Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner.
Whenever you tried your new trick it was bound to bring fits of laughter all round. You were just 14mths old but loved all the extra attention your new trick brought. From that moment you loved to make people laugh by pulling faces and doing funny things. To this day you stil love to make people laugh, especially Kyan or your friends at Pre-Prep.
That Face of yours is one of those things I will never forget, and it seems Kyan is following in your footsteps as he too at the same age started doing ‘The Face’.

Anyway, here is my latest layout of Jasmine. I did it using my Eclectic Inspiration kit and Eclectic Brushes.
I was really happy with how this one came out.. doesn’t she just make your heart melt!

Family Scraps FINALLY! A layout of Kyan! About time huh!
I took this photo a few weeks ago while he as playing in the sandpit. I used my Aussie Oi kit and my Grunge Me Brushes
I had a lot of fun playing with the brushes. I have been wanting a decent grunge brush set for ages, so it was good to have such a huge set to choose from doing this layout!
